High Cholesterol

Cholesterol:  Cholesterol is a vital component within your body.  It is required to create and maintain your cellular membranes. Cholesterol is also critical in the synthesis of hormones and instrumental in several digestive processes.

As we all know, there is such a thing as “too much of a good thing” and this adage certain applies to cholesterol.  The human body already produces cholesterol–mainly in our livers–however, the preponderance of so-called “bad” cholesterol comes from our diet.  And the the majority of the cholesterol in our diets comes from animal proteins.

Your physical therapist will discuss a treatment plan that will include cardiovascular exercise and a prudent diet.  One of our chiropractors may also recommend manual spinal adjustment to reduce your cholesterol levels.
